Fantastic live! Here are my thoughts on some of the topics you and the Italiano discussed: 1.) Honestly if Comcast or nbc universal doesn’t acquire WB Discovery or the company that owns all things Paramount & Nickelodeon, then imo Peacock is kinda screwed. The rumor is that Paramount and WB Discovery will merge together, but it’s just a rumor. Maybe Comcast’s last resort would be to acquire Netflix? But from my understanding they have never been for sale. (Iger considering buying them, but learned they weren’t for sale.) 2.) If they really believe that changing the stretching room is for the best, then that’s fine, I just hope they keep the amazing “scrim” effect and place some cool animatronics in there so it isn’t just screens. The most important thing is that the new scene is an improvement! This may be dreaming too big, but if they placed the Phantom in Phantom Manor at the top, that would be pretty dope. I also hope they keep the cool grim grinning ghosts effect and not replace them with projectors. 3.) Howard Ashman is an absolute legend! Would the Lion King had been amazing if he worked on it? I bet so, but the soundtrack and songs are perfect just as is imo.

10:36 Lord of the Rings has been often rumored to be the IP coming to the larger expansion pad in between Harry Potter and Stardust Racers. You guys are spot on in your thinking.

I just want to note that there are a few reasons that rides break down that guests would never expect. I can't speak to Disney or Universal but I work at a ride similar to Soarin and just a few things that might cause us to "break down" include: we have a camera feed to monitor the guests on the ride and make sure they're all ok, if that camera feed goes down, we have to stop operating the ride until we get the camera feed back. I have to assume that Disney and Universal have the same thing on their rides. Also some times we are temporarily down because we had a glitch in the system's audio that causes the pre-show signal to not get triggered, so we have to reset the system. Or we start the ride and it is moving as normal and the video is normal but the audio is out, we'll have to bring the ride down and reset the media tower. I KNOW Disneyland has those issues sometimes because while I was there and George and I had a bunch of rides break down while we were in their lines (or riding in the case of Grizzly), one of those rides was Peter Pan and I overheard the CMs say the audio wasn't working in one of the rooms. Also I KNOW at Disneyland a lot of the times rides break down are because somebody's hat, glasses, ears, etc fell onto the track and triggered an e-stop censor.

I remember around when the first Enchanted came out I really wanted to see Giselle in Fantasyland and Edward running around asking guests if they've seen a beautiful woman. Also I completely agree with George that Atlantis would make an incredible ride. I love that movie, and I remember seeing 2 of the characters with a temporary meet and greet in front of the submarine lagoon while the movie was in theaters (fun fact, it was the only movie I've ever seen at El Capitan). IIRC imagineers have even said they were planning on retheming the subs to Atlantis and then the movie bombed in the box office. Also I don't know if you guys have ever seen Stargate, but in a LOT of ways, Atlantis is very similar to that first Stargate movie. Which movie am I describing: An archaeologist that has been laughed out of academia for their theories is recruited by an elderly person for a top secret project to prove them right. They get paired with a military type group, unlock the secrets, find that they are right, falls in love with the daughter of the village chief and ultimately stays behind with the locals rather than coming home with everyone else.

I think the only IPs that Disney could ever justify doing multiple lands for at different parks are Marvel and Star Wars, unless you count Pixar as an IP and I would look at their movies as individual IPs. So like I could see a Wakanda land in Animal Kingdom as part of Marvel.

The ip I want to see at Disneyland is a boat ride similar to tangled in fantasy springs but using the Tron ip, replacing the subs, keeping the lagoon and adding luminescence in the lagoon and entering the show building where we will be see the world of tron, instead of the lanterns, we see lightcycles and different vehicles from tron, discs of tron tournaments and hearing the awesome tron music.

My opnion on The Haunted Mansion is this would be a ridiculous change and I'm saying this as someone who has struggled with depression. The tamest haunted houses in regional theme parks go farther then the Haunted Mansion stretching room. Let Disney be a little dark in a ride that aims to be at least in the beginning scary or unnerving. Again this is just my opnion if someone else feels differently I won't tell them their thoughts are any less valid. Also my dad and I (both life long Disney Parks fans) will probably go to Florida for just the Universal resort when Epic opens. So you have at least one group forgoing Disney lol.

Well?...it's 2024 and people are FAR more sensitive and FAR more easily "triggered" than they used to be 10, 20, 30 or 40 years ago. Death is hard for today's crowd to deal with. Since death and afterlife is what the Haunted Mansion is all about....maybe it's time to scrap the entire thing for the saftey of today's modern guests???

My armchair imagineering... Autopia area turns into the Beauty and the Beast ride from Tokyo Disney. For Tomorrowland, tear down both the Innoventions and Pizza Planet buildings entirely and build an all-new indoor TRON ride (Flight of Passage but Tron themed). On top of the Tron show building could be an exclusive dining experience with a world class view of the fireworks over the park. PeopleMover reopens and Astro Orbitor moves back onto the observation deck. Astro Blasters gets an update where the ride vehicles are similar to Midway Mania but the game is still a physical, slow-moving environment. Potentially using some sort of VR effect to modernize the technology. Hollywood Land and the bus loading behind it would need to turn into an urban themed area due to the Monorail running thru it. So maybe Zootopia? Third Avengers Campus ride would basically be Cosmic Rewind but telling a different, Avengers-centric story. DCA Western expansion connects to behind the Inside Out ride and turns into World of Avatar from Animal Kingdom. Disneyland Western expansion connects to Critter Country and turns into World of Frozen from Hong Kong. Since the footprint is bigger than that you could upgrade from Frozen Ever After to the Frozen ride from Tokyo DisneySea and maybe make the Sliding Sleighs longer. Toy Story parking lot becomes the 3rd gate, not sure what it would consist of. MAYBE Garden Walk becomes another Downtown Disney area to connect the 3rd gate to the new parking garage.

The studios park really needed to retheme simpsons to Pokémon with a new update ride system for the anchor attraction. The studios park has been left in the dust. Pokémon could really breathe new life into it.

I want that Moana ride at DLR whether in DCA expansion pad or 3rd gate. Also for some reason the Moana ride system also makes me think of the Shanghai Pirates boats.

ok so on the potential Epic Universe ticketing situation.... I could maybe understand that as an opening X months thing like "we recognize the demand and hype is high so to ease the crowds upon opening we will be limiting access to only those with a multi-day ticket with reservations necessary. We will eventually revert to standard ticketing after the initial demand dies down" That said, as cool as some parts of that park look, I really don't see how I could spend an entire day there to begin with. Like, the areas are such a wide range of interests, and that is my entire problem with these individual IP lands because with Epic Universe, I'ld check out Potter, Dark Universe looks awesome, and I'll want to check out the Donkey Kong Coaster and Yoshi ride that aren't part of the Hollywood park. But I have no interest in How To Train Your Dragon, I don't need to ride Mario Kart again, I liked it but I wanted more practical effects and less augmented reality, I'm not a fan of rides that make me put on 3D glasses or any other kind of headset. Also, I'm in the position that my day at Universal Hollywood was a massive let down because I gained weight during the pandemic shutdowns that I haven't been able to lose yet and that made it so I could only even do half of the rides. So with that in mind, how could I possibly fill 3 days at Universal Orlando unless I'm able to lose enough weight before I go?

Tokyo Disneyland Resort has a similar ticket system that Universal has proposed. Universal is seeing themselves as equal or better than Disney with this strategy. now for a bit of fun....... To welcome the new neighbor, Disney could sell a 9 day vacation package: - Complimentary Magical Express - Complimentary breakfast all 9 days - Stay at any Walt Disney World Hotel - 8 days at Disney Theme/Water parks with all day parkhopping - Early entry for 9 days - Extra Magic Hours at the Magic Kingdom on the 9th day. (5pm till 1am) - Guaranteed seats at Drawn to Life on the 9th day - Animal Kingdoms Jungle Trek on the 9th day - Utilidoor Tour on 9th day - Steam Train tour on the 9th day (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and the Wilderness Lodge train room) - Guaranteed seating for Fantasmic 9th day - 9th day at Epic Universe with shuttle service provided (10 am to 5 pm only)

The ride name literally says it all by be named called the Haunted Mansion it is literally a ride about deaths and ghosts. The ride also has a bride that kills all her rich husbands with an axe. Why doesn't nobody complain about her and why are people so damn sensitive?

All the people saying you can't compare Hagrids to Tiana's. Of course you can, Hagrid isn't that technically advanced, its just a standard roller coaster.

I disagree about Universal not having done anything to their parks. They have done a lot in the pass year.

Fine discussion, gents. Well, we figured that there would be a "special bundle package" to avoid some Universal parks cannibalism. Will be interesting to see "when" single day tickets show up. Planning to visit in 2026, and I don't want to pay for the other two parks, ugh.

You guys mentioned how people go to Florida to do Disney. Our family must be an exception to the rule then. Disney has priced out to many people. Our family gets the military price which is reduced by a lot compared to the normal price. For a comparison Disney 4 day park hopper is around $2k and universal is $1k for season passes. This is for 5 tickets.

I was thinking that maybe Universal will have a much better plan for this. I’m waiting to see what they really say about the ticketing info. I’m rooting for them very much. Great video guys !!

I appreciate you guys being fair about epic. Everyone is just hyping it up but no one else is reporting on the multi day ticket situation, which is a terrible practice if it is the only option. You’re right. If Disney did this, the internet would flay them. This has to be the most balanced take on epic I've heard.

Universal already has a 2 park or 3 park option. You could chose to add the water park or just stick with the theme parks. So I have no doubt the AP prices will go up once Epic Universe is online. Fun fact about Universal nostalgia The Simpsons ride by the time it leaves will have been in their respective parks longer then Back to the Future the ride was.

Great show Guys! I have to agree with George if Disney had implemented this same program social media would be in an uproar. That being said I can see how that could be disappointing to people, but it makes sense. It controls crowds at launch and a great way to manage capacity.

I honestly think with the EU ticket thing, I think they’re going to take the HHN approach & drop the package deals first but as we get closer to opening day I think they will release the single day 🎟️’s.

Here is what I find most interesting about the Disneyland Forward Project. This will stem from a city of Anaheim legislation and the politics there in. Also, the "sensitivity" nature that is or was Splash Mountain is nothing of topic to discuss. It's done. We're moving on to a new chapter and new story. We know WDW closed its version of Splash Mountain first, proceeded by Disneyland. Though it is my thought process, this would've taken place regardless(Tianna's Bayou changeover). However, I don't think many of the "projects and / or closures" we see now would be happening if Disney didn't think for one second the votes would be going their way in the proposed Disney Forward Projects. I feel Brickey is correct in his assumption that Tiannas will be opening as scheduled later in the year as supposed to possibly earlier. If you look at progress to WDW we are about 1.5 months ahead of where they were at same point. However, Disney is making the necessary changes now while it is obviously convenient to do so with all the construction and re-theming being done on the western edge of the park. Early infrastructure modifications can be done now while things are shut down, though it is still an inconvenience of having nothing on the western side of the park open. Hence, just use a small gate entrance right to stretching room of HM to ease tension and upcoming Holloween season. Disney has proven time and time again they are always looking forward (though sometimes it doesn't seem that way, but small losses in battles will eventually provide better information to win the war). When it comes to decisions like this, growth for the OG park it was a political tactic to wait to show the city the potential growth after what Disney had done overseas. To me Galaxy Edge was the first stepping stone in that growth project to push forward with the Disneyland Forward project. In conjunction, make no mistake, Disney planned this to coincide with its proposal of Beyond Big Thunder Railroad in WDW. As i stated at the beginning, it's political. We, as fans of most things Disney, want the best they have to offer, and we want it now. My good friends and readers, today, in the here and now, there are moves and countermoves to get to end result. Disney has just put the final pawns in place to move forward with a massive expansion here out west to quantify longer stays and a little more inclusive feel as WDW does.
